Costa Blanca |
| Lying on the eastern coast of Spain, the Costa Blanca draws millions of tourists each year to its turquoise waters and miles of white sandy beaches. Alicante is the capital and major city on this stretch of coast, but it is Benidorm that attracts the most visitors and this is the place to go for those looking for a lively and entertaining holiday with hundreds of bars and all-night clubs catering mainly for British tourists. However there is more to the Costa Blanca than crowded beach resorts - within the mountainous interior are a series of fascinating medieval towns and fortified villages which have been largely unaffected by modern development. |

Albir Set just 4 miles along the coast from the more lively Benidorm, Albir is very different and offers family's and those wanting a quieter holiday the chance to enjoy the benefits offered by its close neighbour during the day but to escape from the noise at night. Albir offers a pebbly beach and is considered one of the best in the area. The town offers a smattering of shops, pubs and restaurants. Journey time from Alicante airport is around an hour. |

Alicante is the capital of the area and is a large city with all the usual amenities available. Mainly known for its large airport Alicante is about an hour away from Benidorm. Alicante has a lively port with the lovely promenade of Explanada de España, located across from the port with a great abundance of pavement cafés, bars and restaurants. The local beach of El Postiguet is great but gets rather busy at weekends as it's a favourite of the locals. The better option for beach lovers is San Juan, located only a few kilometres away. Alicante is a golf lovers paradise with 12 golf courses to choose from and it's an ideal location for groups as the non-golfers can enjoy all that Alicante has to offer whilst the golfers can enjoy a reasonably priced round of golf with the sun on their backs. |

Benidorm Some 4 million visitors each year are testament to the resorts amazing organization and facilities here. With more restaurants, clubs, shops, pubs and bars than you could fit in a lifetime the facts are plain to see; Benidorm really does offer something for everyone looking for a lively holiday. Of course, this thriving resort would never have developed the way it did if it weren’t for its beautiful setting with two wonderful sandy bays separated by a rocky promontory that offers great views in each direction to Poniente and Levante beaches. A towering offshore fountain adds to the ‘big resort’ spectacle. Old Benidorm meanwhile lives on in the narrow streets near the castle, where English-owned pubs and bars have long been part of the scenery. But for a taste of Benidorm at its most cutting edge head for the nightclubs, discos, pubs and cafes spreading out to the east or the Levante beach, not forgetting the major attractions focused in the Rincon de Loix area. |

La Cala de Finestrat (Cala Finestrat) Set just south of Benidorm's Poniente Beach, Finestrat is very different and offers family's and those wanting a quieter holiday the chance to enjoy the benefits offered by its close neighbour during the day but to escape from the noise at night. Finestrat offers a small sandy bay/cove, which is ideal for family's with young children. The town is typically Spanish and offers a smattering of excellent sea food restaurants, along with outdoor bars and cafes. For the female shoppers there is a new American style shopping facility situated about a mile away. Journey time from Alicante airport is around an hour. |

La Nucia La Nucia is situated to the northeast of Alicante, in the centre of The Marine Baixa, one of the most beautiful areas of the Costa Blanca. La Nucia has a fiesta between 15th to the 18th of August in honour of the Virgin of the Purisima Concepcion. The religious fiesta of San Rafael is celebrated on the third Sunday of November. There is also a fiesta for San Vicente which is celebrated on Easter Monday. La Nucia is quiet yet only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Alicante. |
